Thousands of people in Bangladesh have been killed and hundreds of thousands more left without food or shelter by Cyclone Sidr.
Houses, crops and livelihoods have been devastated and many sources of drinking water are now contaminated. The international Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is providing clean water, emergency shelter and basic healthcare in to those in desperate need.
Taz (Tasleem Shakur) is fasting from 20th November until 8th December 2007, in aid of the Bangladesh Disaster.
£1.50 will feed a child for approximately 1 week, but any amount WILL make a big difference.
To sponsor Taz call into his office in Natural, Geographical & Applied Sciences: Location: G 19.
Or call/email him to pledge an amount to extension: +44 (0)1695 584551, email: shakurt@edgehill.ac.uk

Test introduction to IBSN
Dear world readers
We are pleased to inform you that a blog is created by Architect Assaduzzaman and me to liaise on Bangladesh matters and exchange views on a number of current affairs and research topics. Asad is a young Architect from Bangladesh reading a postgraduate degree on Architecture at Barcelona whereas I am an academic teaching and researching on Development/Cultural/Built Environment Studies at Edge Hill University, UK.
We welcome all sorts of comments on Bangladesh matters, particularly those living outside Bangladesh. We try to keep this an open forum but like request that no rude comments are made to any person. Once we hear from you, we will post more focussed comments on the aims and objectives of this blog. Best wishes and looking forward to hear from you all from all parts of the world.
